The SNO ship-painting facility plays host to a state-of-the-art system with the capacity to coat vessels measuring up to 35 metres in length. Emissions from this facility are well below the legal limit as set out in the environmental directives. An electrically controlled door, four industrial aspirators and several 230 kW burners combine to give total control over humidity and temperature, thus reducing the atmospheric dust generated by the coating cycle and ensuring that the coating is suitable for the specific type of vessel being painted. Other types of coatings can also be used, such as gelcoat with the Awlgrip cycle. In addition, the personnel can also carry out plasterwork on FPR and wooden boats, as well as finishing on products made in the carpentry workshop.
